End Table & Fitted Carved Bowls
The end table was made from one solid piece of maple. It was a log that had rotted out in some places, so I worked with the piece to use its natural state to my advantage.
The bowls and the table were carved out and shaped to fit one another. You can see from the picture above how the wood had rotted to create the textures and color variations
The legs of the table were also carved out from the log; they are not separate pieces. With the varnish treatment, this once rotting log should last for many more years to come.
