Memory Stone Mainstay

This project was from the summer of 2012.  The grand kids each created a stone with their hand prints and a recent photograph, which was laminated to protect it from the elements.  Some decorative "jewels" were pushed it to give each one a unique look.

I created a free-form cedar structure that holds the three memory stones.  Each one is held in by strategically placed pieces of cedar branches that were cut down and screw mounted.  I added some branches at the top so my wife could safely set some potted flowers there. It's a sold piece of cedar log, so it's not light weight.  Even the toughest thunderstorms and wind gusts aren't going to budge this thing.  We keep it in a shady spot during the summer and wheel it indoors for the winter.
